CHAT utilizes a variety of integrated and mobile health interventions to deliver family planning information and services to under served communities in ways that are adapted to local cultures and realities. CHAT's motor and camel mobile health services provide integrated health services with an emphasis on our innovative strategy of holistic family planning, that incorporates ecological awareness & sensitization.Guided by the MoH policy, patients treated by CHAT are tested for HIV/AIDS (When test kits are available)
CHAT includes a strong component of Behavior Change Communication in all its interventions. The BCC activities are delivered by CHAT and their grassroots partners through a variety of outreach strategies. BCC covers various topics, including: Family Planning, Environmental conservation and natural resource utilization, Maternal and Child Health, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis- TB, COVID 19 and Gender-Based Violence- GBV.
CHAT provides treatment for many ailments, such as upper respiratory track infections (URTI), malaria, deworming, diarrhoea/dysentery, eye & ear infections, skin infections, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and many more. CHAT incorporates COVID-19 activities following GoK guidelines. Annually, it reaches 67,528 people with HIV/AIDS services, collaborating with grassroots partners CORPs, who conduct door-to-door HIV/AIDS sensitisation, counselling, and testing.
Working closely with the MOH and in partnership with AMREF Health Africa, CHAT is supported by the Global Fund New Funding Model to implement the following interventions:
CHAT assists the MoH where and when possible to provide or refer: All the essential childhood immunizations, Child weight check clinics, Antenatal clinics (ANC) for pregnant women and Postnatal clinics (PNC) for follow up after delivery.
