2022 was a very interesting year for CHAT. We achieved a lot and would like to share out progress reports highlighting these achievements.

2021 as a recovering year from the C-19 global pandemic had a lot of challenges but it was better . Though slow, CHAT still kept at it to provide services to the needy communities that we continue to serve. The following reports detail our work for the year.

In Kenya’s Samburu County, with harsh climatic conditions and more than 50% of the population living below the poverty line without adequate sanitation, many may die in childbirth or from treatable diseases such as malaria, diarrhoea, tetanus, waterborne diseases and eye and skin infections.

CHAT was featured in a story appearing in The Mail & Guardian, July 15 to 21 2016 Edition, produced by the M&G Centre for Health Journalism. "Healthcare for Kenya’s seminomadic communities comes in the unlikely form of camels, which carry medicine to the country’s most remote villages. In “SWAP KERJA", a Singaporean reality TV show, 8 Singaporeans from different professions are sent to different countries for a job swap challenge of their lifetimes. In Season 2 Episode 8 of the show, Taufiq and NUH Emergency Doctor Zulkarnain work with CHAT relying on camels and land rovers to travel to the most remote villages in Kenya to work in our outreach programmes that bring PHE to Kenya's semi-nomadic tribes.

2018 was another great year where we have continued to experience enormous demand for all our services, especially Family Planning (FP). Our partnerships have grown stronger, allowing us to allocate Global Funds' resources to all the counties we support.
This year we've extended our partnership with AMREF with funds from Global Fund for TB interventions, in addition to a new partnership with AMREF in the Afya Timiza project in Samburu county, with support from USAID. We look forward to further partnerships in implementing interventions with a focus on Population Health and Environment (PHE).
This year we have continued to experience enormous demand for all our services, especially Family Planning (FP). Our partnership with AMREF has grown stronger, allowing us to allocate Global Funds' resources for TB interventions in Laikipia and Isiolo counties. .
This is a report by a volunteer, a research scientist working in Belgium, who came out for 2 weeks this last August 2016 to accompany CHAT’s motor mobile clinic through Samburu East County.
